On the second floor
there is an open air common area and hammocks for just napping,
reading, journaling, yoga stretching, kicking back and drinking
in the wonderful sounds of the symphony of the forest.
This
floor has sleeping
space for two guests, a small library of books about
Central
America, a sink for freshening up and opens out on to the solarium
boardwalk. It leads guests to our "cool
tub" and private deck
space for sunning, or just a quiet place to enjoy a fresh fruit
drink and take in the panoramic views. If you are artistically
inclined, this deck is a great place for drawing and painting.
On the first floor is
La Joya's fully equipped kitchen. And, if you’d
prefer a wood stove and
a brick pizza oven, just walk to the nearby Pizza House. This is
where one can opt to dine in, with sumptuous home cooked meals.
La Joya, however, provides all its guests a daily breakfast upon
request. What a healthy start to your day exploring a little
bit of paradise. Tropical fruits, fresh yogurt, and multigrain cereals
are just some of the items offered each morning. All can be topped
off with world famous Costa Rican coffee or, if one prefers, our
own herbal teas cut fresh each morning.
Off the kitchen is
our lower ramp leading to an orchid garden with laundry facility.
Maid service includes the daily
maintenance of the rooms and laundering of clothes or personal
items guests may need tended to.
Finally, La Joya de
la Jungla offers guests a unique opportunity to truly step back
in time and savor tropical living in all its simple primitive
beauty.
Evenings are perhaps
among the most special time at La Joya. Illuminated by the soft
warm glow of candle and lantern light, La Joya is truly an Island
of tranquility and serenity. The sounds of the jungle come alive
at night as crickets, frogs, and a host of other "musicians" entertain
our guests with the soothing sounds of nature.
So, plan your trip
to our tree house oasis now. If getting away from the often frenetic
pace of modern day living is what you are seeking, you will appreciate
our location; if experiencing tropical living in a rustic, remote,
but comfortable setting is your goal, you won't be disappointed;
and if finding a primitive place to just simply be one with yourself
or some one you love, amidst the earthiness of nature …
La Joya is the place for you.
