Madeline:
Thanks to you and your sweet dog, Mamacita, for your wonderful
place here and being such gracious hosts. I much admire all the
work you’ve put into
this jungle oasis and your efforts to stay “off the grid”
and work with medicinal herbs and wish you the best of luck in
your continuing development of La Joya. This has provided us a
welcome week of relaxation from our usual frenetic pace. Enjoyed
talking with you! Adios, Judy
Also enjoyed
“watching the projects progress and didn’t feel too
guilty about not joining in. Thanks, Chris

We had
so much fun. Your tree house was my favorite part of our stay
in
Costa Rica…so romantic and secluded. We loved all the jungle
sounds at
night. Showers in the Morpho Room were one of the main highlights.
We will
have to come back to enjoy some more of the wonderful breakfasts,
especially the pineapple and star fruits. We loved La Joya!!!
Muy Bueno!

The appreciation of
the opportunity to connect with my ancestral roots of a
nature-based culture is beyond the limitations of words. This
place is
beautiful and I admire your intention to stay off the grid. I
hope your
efforts create a ripple effect to turn the tides on a world determined
to
live artificially. I also loved doing yoga to the sounds of nature.
Namaste!

– I noticed Bonnie’s mention of a world “determined
to live
artificially”. The experience of La Joya Retreat, with the
brilliant sights
and wondrous, soothing sounds…nature…causes one to
wonder “Why?”
Thank
you for saving a part for us to experience. Om Shanti.

“We were very happy and pleased to experience the jungle
at its best. The opportunities to see and hear every type of species
imaginable was the adventure of a lifetime. Madeline’s hospitality
was great and we will recommend anyone traveling to the area to
stay at La Joya.

We found the best spot for our honeymoon. Thank you for the wonderful
meals, especially with the new pizza oven. Thank you for giving
us ample privacy too. I'll tell my friends to book early - you've
got a winner here! Me Too - Jim!

Lynn - Thank you for a breathtaking tropical experience. Your
place is fabulous both for location and more so for the beauty
and restfulness you have worked to create. I hope our paths cross
again. Love Ivy.

Thank you for a week in paradise, you have caught the spirit of
the land and built a spectacular retreat I have enjoyed every
minute of my stay; the great meals, chez vous, the exchange of
stories, the tour of your property, the fiestas, your friends
and you.
Love, Ann.

What a magical
spot. The trees, plants, fruits, flowers and birds made me feel
the wonder of the jungle, and with the beach nearby was the perfect
retreat. Hope to see you again.

The 4 days / nights at your retreat were the most marvelous experiences
of a lifetime. The birds, the flora (both wild and domestic) were
incredible. Your hard work and dedication were obvious and I hope
to return in the future. I'll be spreading the word among my eco-friends.
Best wishes, Bill Kennedy
